BIR-6 Director wants ‘Oplan Kandado’ continued
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Regional Director Alert Alocilja said that he would like to continue the “Oplan Kandado,” which was initiated by the resigned Commissioner Sixto Esquivas IV, as a disciplinary measure on erring taxpayers.
Director Alocilja said that prior to the Esquivas’ resignation, they have proposed the closure of two establishments under BIR Regional Office 11 and is is now pending.
He said that their regional office contributes about one percent of the total revenue collection in the country, however, they are intensifying the collection to also make a good record and to hit their goal.
But with the expected refocusing under OIC Commissioner Joel Tan Torres, the BIR regional office is now closely monitoring the top taxpayers and others to meet their collection goal for the year. (PNA)
