MEDTREK sets Bike Run to commemorate fallen biker
Cycling enthusiasts and road safety advocates are invited to join the Bike- Run around the city of Bacolod this November 5.
MEDTREK, a local biker’s organization is spearheading the event named the Ben Morano Road Caution Fun Ride in remembrance of fallen biker, Ben Morano, who died a year ago in a road accident.
MEDTREK President, Miguel Yusay, said they are expecting about 700 bikers to join the event which is part of their continuing advocacy for the local government to set-up bike lanes and road signs particularly along bike routes such as the Bacolod-Murcia road, the Alangilan and Granada route and the Alijis road.
Yusay said they already have an earlier commitment from Murcia Mayor Esteban Coscolluela to set-up road safety signs along Murcia road and “we are hoping that we will be seeing these signs up not just in Murcia but all over the province.”
MEDTREK will have as their assembly point the New Government Center with free registration starting at 5:00 a.m. and with free snacks and raffle at the end of the fun ride.
Yusay said they will have more activities of this kind in the near future as they continue to celebrate their 10th year anniversary as a growing biker’s and triathlon athletes organization.
