City gov’t employees receive early year-end bonus
BACOLOD CITY — Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently ordered the release of the remaining half or balance of the year-end bonus this year of qualified city government employees with the appropriation of P11, 654,863.50.
The mayor said, “while the budget for this intact and ready for all employees, we are giving our employees the option to avail of this earlier or wait for November 15 and nearer the Christmas Season.”
There are 2,196 government employees in the city: 921 plantilla casuals; 1,256 regular; and 19 contractual instructors of Bacolod City College.
About 90 percent of the employees had already received their bonus and the remaining percentage will be on or before November 15.
This is in response to Budget Circular No.2009-4 of Department of Budget and Management to provide financial assistance and to alleviate the plight of calamity stricken government personnel brought about by tropical storm “Ondoy”.
