SBM to PSC Comm. Loretizo: Resign
BACOLOD CITY – Save Bacolod Movement (SBM) dared Philippine Sports Commissioner Eric Loretizo to resign from the PSC.
Mr. Romy Niere, SBM Convenor said Loretizo should resign from his post due to lack of trust and confidence.
SBM believes that Loretizo has turned his back to his commitment to serve the interest of the Filipino people being a government official when he publicly defended Cong. Monico O. Puentevella in his Plunder case filed by PSC Chairman Harry Angping.
SBM has dared Loretizo to leave his post out of delicadeza.
Niere said, “As a government official, Loretizo is expected to stand by the decision of the PSC to charge Puentevella with Plunder because of the solon’s failure to liquidate the funds released to the Bacolod Sea Games Organizing Committee in 2005. However, Loretizo, in his recent interviews with the local media, deliberately cleared Puentevella from any accountability as he insisted that the Congressman is a victim of political persecution.”
Niere has laid down the reasons why Loretizo should resign:
He should resign because he is serving the interest of his boss referring to the Congressman instead of protecting the rights of the Filipino people. He is standing against the decision of the PSC to charge Puentevella with Plunder, thus, making an impression that the decision to charge Puentevella is a fatal error.
Mr. Loretizo is indirectly accusing PSC Chairman Angping as a vindictive political leader who is running after Puentevella when he claimed that his boss is being harassed.
From all indications, Mr. Loretizo will defend Puentevella, as a witness, in his legal battle against PSC.
Loretizo is involved in the reported BASOC anomaly, Niere said.
Mr. Loretizo has no business of staying at the PSC, Niere said. He should resign and go back to his job as a media coordinator and planner of the Congressman. It is of public knowledge that before Loretizo became PSC Commissioner, he served as Media Liaison Officer of Puentevella.
He should be reminded that he draws his salary from the PSC and must refrain from acting as Media Liaison of Puentevella. What does he want to prove? Niere asked.
That while he is being paid by the government, he has not ceases from doing the media chores for his beloved boss, Niere said.
