GMA holds medical, dental mission
Akihiro distributes bags to kids.In celebration of the 10th anniversary of GMA TV-6, an outreach activity was held at the La Paz Plaza last Oct. 31, 2009. The Ilonggo Kapuso enjoyed free services like medical check-up, medicines, haircut, massage and a livelihood training conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI 6). A bloodletting activity and jobs fair were also done and participated by different recruitment agencies.
GMA Iloilo Station Manger Jonathan Cabillon, said that this is their way of thanking the Ilonggos for their continued support for the station in the past 10 years.
Volunteer doctors check some patients.The men and women of Ratsada and Arangkada were also at hand at the activity.
Before that, GMA Iloilo and some Kapuso celebrities Akihiro Sato (SRO Cinemaserye), Rhian Ramos & Glaiza de Castro (Stairway to Heaven), gave out GMA school bags and supplies to 200 student-beneficiaries of the Mandurriao Elementary School. There were varied parlor games, special production numbers from the pupils and local performers, lunch, a meet-and-greet from GMA Kapuso artists and gift-giving. It was part of the Kapuso Volunteerism Project of the Network in the regions where Kapuso Stars take part.
