Korina hits LP stalwarts who joined Bolante’s group
ROXAS CITY – Senator Mar Roxas’s wife Korina Sanchez slammed members of the Liberal Party (LP) who transferred to former Agriculture (DA) Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante’s Ugyon Kita Party (UKC).
Sanchez said that those LP members owe a lot of their political career from her husband.
Sanchez delivered the statement during the two-day dialogue with Capizeños in the 2nd district of Capiz together with Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr., former PNP Chief Retired General Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso, Board Members Nonoy Contreras and Vincent Fritz Cruz Am and several others.
“Let’s support Sen. Mar Roxas’s chosen candidates who have not been investigated by senate blue ribbon committee and has no record of corruption,” Sanchez said referring to Bolante and his group.
Sanchez and local LP leaders declared their bets from mayor to vice mayor down to Sangguniang Bayan members to complete the LP slates in Dumarao, Dumalag, Cuartero, Dao on Nov. 17 and Tapaz, Mambusao, Jamindan, Sigma, Sapian, Capiz the following day, Nov. 18.
In the first day activity, Korina was able to meet with voters and political leaders in Brgys. Leong and Culasi, Roxas City where hundreds of people attended.
This is the second time around that Korina endorsed LP bets for the 2010 election, the first one was conducted several months ago at Pontevedra and Ivisan, Capiz.
In reaction to her statement, Former Gov. Jose “Ting” Borda, who is a trusted man of Bolante, said in a text message to The News Today, that: Korina is not credible to make that “ panumboy” for the following reasons: 1) Bag o lang siya nakatapik sa mga Roxas, delicadeza dictates that she should stay away from these problems especially that many who are involved are related to the Roxases.
Secondly, the former governor also stated that she (Korina) does not fully know and understand facts and circumstances, “Bag-o lang sia naka tapak sa Capiz and she is not Capiceño, thirdly, “Kinahanglan bala nga mag pa reyna-reyna siya sa Capiz? And “how dare a non-Capiznon lead Capizeños what to do, Indi man na diri gaestar sa Capiz Si Korina,” Borda said.
