2nd District poll contenders file COCs on Saturday
ROXAS CITY – 2nd District Cong. Fred Castro’s wife Mrs. Jane Castro and five 2nd district board members and opponents led by former PNP Chief Gen. Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso and and his allies filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) on Saturday at the Commission on Election (Comelec) provincial office here.
Castro, who is running under the banner of Lakas-Kampi-CMD chaired by her husband, filed COCs together with five candidates for 2nd district board members namely: Dao Vice Mayor Jaime Magbanua, Mambusao Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Jeffrey Layo, former Jamindan Vice Mayor Carmilo Robles, and Board Member Gilbert Ardvilla’s wife Ma. Emilie Ardivilla.
However, Bolante and running mate former City Councilor Mark Ortiz, running governor and vice governor, respectively were not able to file COCs but will do it on Tuesday.
Vice Governor Felipe Barredo and five 1st district candidates are also expected to file their COCs tomorrow, the last day.
Meanwhile, it was not yet known on what party will City Mayor Vicente Bermejo and ten city councilorables and Panay Mayor Dante Bermejo and eight candidates for SB members who are said to have bolted from LP be running.
The chosen candidates of Sen. Noynoy Aquino III and Sen. Mar Roxas of the LP who also filed their COCs on Saturday were: Lastimoso, reelectionist Governor Victor Tanco, Sr; and running mate Board Member Nonoy Contreras.
For 1st district board members, they are: former Vice Mayor Roberto Ignacio, Businessman Sonny Besa, PCL President David Bauson, Former City Councilor Eduardo Magallanes and Lawyer Remia Fuentes Bartolome.
For 2nd district: gormer Board Members: Lawyer Mario Niel San Felix, Alwin Cruz Am, father of incumbent Board Member Fritz Cruz Am; Cris Andaya and Dr. Antonio Arcega and incumbent Board Member Winston Advincula.
Meanwhile, LP bets for the city who likewise filed COCs on Sunday were: former Vice Mayor Allan Celino for mayor, Reelectionist Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas. For city councilors: Reelectionist Erwin Sicad, Former City Councilor Albert Potato, Powell del Rosario, nephew of Cong. Antonio del Rosario; Lyn Lim, Jennifer Anisco, Engr. Eugene Chua, Emmanuel Billones, Jr., Elson Londres.
