Successful Capiceño lawyer in Manila back home to run as board member
ROXAS CITY – A successful practicing lawyer, who is a native of Dumalag, Capiz, went back to his place and will run for board member in the second district of Capiz this May 2010 election.
Lawyer Preston Advincula-Fagtana Villasis of San Jose, Dumalag, Capiz said that he wanted to share to the people of the second district the blessings granted to him by the Almighty.
Villasis’s platform of government are education, health, infrastructure and employment or livelihood for the Capiceños.
“If I’m elected, I shall not represent any political party nor faction but only the entire citizenry of the 2nd district of Capiz,” Villasis told The News Today (TNT).
Villasis asked voters, in 2010 election, not to allow politicians to buy their votes for if they do it, the same thing will happen in the election and “nothing will change in our district.”
“Let us show to the “trapos” traditional politicians that money and influence cannot speak louder than our voice, and that we are going to vote conformably to our consciences,” Villasis said.
Villasis, graduated Bachelor of Arts Political Science and Bachelor of Laws, consistent honor student at the Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City. He took the Bar and passed year after.
For working experiences, he has been holding positions from drug retailer, supervisor and became regional sales manager at several pharmaceutical companies.
He also served as legal hearing officer at Air Transportation Office (ATO), a court attorney at Supreme Court in the 2nd division and practicing lawyer for almost 24 years in Manila, Iloilo and Capiz.
In civic organizations, Villasis used to be president of Alta Tiera Lions Club and zone chairman, Lion District 301-B.
Being a successful lawyer, he too is a father to Christian Villasis, 31, is also lawyer who will take charge of his law firm in Manila once luckily elected in public office.
Villasis is married to Gail Villasis with whom they were blessed with four siblings namely: Emmylou, Marrie Ju Anne, Christian and Diana Marie Badar.
