‘Light-a-tree’ contest at NOPPO
Policemen assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office headquarters at Camp Alfredo Montelibano in Barangay Estefania will once again participate in the noble Light-A-Tree contest beginning this week.
Police Inspector Reina Protacio, deputy chief of the Police Community Relations Branch of NOPPO, said that the contest will open on December 3 with Mrs Cecile Migrace Felix as guest of honor.
Each office will decorate their respective trees out of their own resources starting November 28 using reusable/recyclable and indigenous materials according to Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr, spokesman of NOPPO.
The criteria for judging will be based on the following: 1. nativity (symbolism of the tree to reflect the essence of Christmas)-20%, 2. craftsmanship and artistry-40%, 3. originality-20% and 4. overall impact-20%.
According to Protacio, the board of judges will be composed of Architect Hilario Campos III, Engr Jun Leon Monterola, Miss Renee Brillantes, Miss Karen Dinsay and Miss May Cueva.
Thursday’s Switch-on Ceremony will be held at Camp Montelibano with Police Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, NOPPO director, leading the activity.
Prizes will be awarded the Top 3 winners of the Light-A-Tree tilt during the Christmas Party of the Negros Occidental PNP added Santotome.
