Dumalag Liga ng mga Barangay bloodletting successful
ROXAS CITY – Provincial Liga President Clemente Castro Firmalino said that the bloodletting conducted by Dumalag Liga ng mga Barangay where he is also the head, was successful.
Firmalino said that hundreds of donors coming from 19 barangays of Dumalag town successfully donated their bloods.
The Liga president said that he conducted a bloodletting activity because he is concerned about the rising demand for blood due to illness and medical operations.
The said bloodletting was conducted on December 5 at Suhot Cave, some 2 kilometers away from the town poblacion.
Firmalino an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) also said the bloodletting activity in Dumalag is already institutionalized to answer the needs of patients in case of emergency.
The said bloodletting was held in cooperation with Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), town mayor Lilia Castro, Cong. Fredenil Castro and wife Mrs. Jane Castro who is running for 2nd district representative.
Firmalino said that this is now the second time that the Liga ng mga Barangay of Dumalag conducted a bloodletting activity, the first one was held in summer this year at the same venue.
According to him, the bloodletting activity would help address the demand for blood in times of emergency not only in Dumalag but also in other places.
