PGMA’s Capiz visit a boost Ugyon party
ROXAS CITY – Political pundits here believe that Pres. Gloria Arroyo’s visit today is a show of support to Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) of Former Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante, 2nd District Cong. Fred Castro whose wife Mrs. Jane is running for congresswoman and City Mayor Vicente Bermejo.
Bolante being a former DA official, is the political ally of Arroyo while Castro, who is chairman of Lakas-Kampi-CMD party and Bermejo’s wife Mariter is the president’s classmate and close friend.
On the other hand, Sen. Mar Roxas, national president of Liberal Party (LP) is a staunch critic of the Arroyo administration.
A source told The News Today (TNT) that President Arroyo will be here today to give some P30 million worth of projects to Bermejo for the city’s development.
Engr. Julius Abela of the 1st engineering district, DPWH, told TNT that the president will arrive here today at 12:30 p.m. to grace the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of drainage system particularly at Sunshine Village Road-Capiz East Road (Banica section) to Gov. Atila Balgos Avenue.
Drainage system from Banica going to New Road Banica to San Roque Street; various barangay projects worth of P40 million with an initial release of P10 millions as legacy projects of the president.
The president will be coming from Iloilo City and in the afternoon she will proceed to Kalibo, Aklan for another projects blessing.
