Bermejo lays claim to fast development of Roxas City
ROXAS CITY – City Mayor Vicente Bermejo said that the development projects poured by his administration did not have counterpart nor aided by Sen. Mar Roxas, 1st District Cong. Antonio del Rosario and Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr.
This was said by Bermejo during the turnover of checks for the water system in Santo Niño Homeowner’s Association in New Road Banica and Milibili, Roxas City.
Bermejo turned over the check in the amount of P102,000 for Banica and P397.995.00 check for Urban Poor Homeowners’ Association where phase 1 to 4 benefited for its water system.
Accordingly, the Metro Roxas Water District (MRWD) has 50% counterpart for the pipes installed in the two areas.
In reaction to Bermejo’s statements, Del Rosario said that he left P140 million to the city during his stint as mayor saying that the former’s accomplishments are only replacements of all lamps in the city posts.
Del Rosario also accused Bermejo of having a drainage project which he cannot pinpoint until now.
Last week, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo visited here to grace ground breaking ceremony of flood control in Banica going to the city in the amount of P40 million.
The city mayor also thanked the president for legacy projects poured in the city.
Bermejo, a former LP member, left the party after Sen. Mar Roxas anointed former City Vice Mayor Allan Celino as bet. He later joined the Ugyon Kita Capiz of Former Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
