Rep. Del Rosario boasts of projects in city
ROXAS CITY – Denying all the statements of former 1st District Cong. Rodriquez “Roging” Dadivas, incumbent Rep. Antonio del Rosario said that only one project of his predecessor was not continued for completion and that is the three-story building in Legaspi Street which Dadivas erected during his stint.
Del Rosario said he did not finish the building because occupants of the old building were phased out by City Mayor Vicente Bermejo as the latter wanted to replace his own supporters to be the new occupants.
The 1st District solon also clarified that he preferred not to finish the said public building than to have it finished with Bermejo’s new occupants and supporters.
Last December 1, Dadivas filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for congressional race for unfinished business citing his projects were not continued by Del Rosario. He added that he was also promised by Mrs. Judy Araneta Roxas, mother of Sen. Mar Roxas, the congressional post in which Mrs. Roxas strongly denied.
Dadivas, father of reelectionist Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, said that his running for congressman will push through and no one can prevent him as he vowed that there will be no turning back and no retreat no surrender.
The former congressman also renews his loyalty to Liberal Party (LP) where he owes his political career adding that many other parties invited him to jump ship but he turned down.
In reaction to this, Del Rosario said that there is no such LP independent as far as the party is concern.
“There is a conflict of what Roging has said which is different from what he is doing,” Del Rosario told The News Today (TNT).
According to Del Rosario, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino and Sen. Mar Roxas, president and vice president aspirants, respectively, wanted that there will be reform nationwide by accepting political allies who have no record of corruptions.
Del Rosario also said that he is proud of his skywalk erected along Roxas Avenue where he only funded in the amount of P3.5 M than that of Roging’s skywalk constructed during his term in Fuentes Drive this city where the latter spent at total of P5 million.
Del Rosario clarified that he only got irked over Roging and not his son Ronnie, who according to him, is a good man and loyal to the LP.
Meanwhile, Bermejo was not reached for comment over Del Rosario’s allegation regarding the unfinished building in Legaspi Street, this city.
