NEGRENSE WAY
Belens at NGC Bacolod
The spacious ground of the New Government Center in Bacolod City is a haven for leisurely walk and simple family evenings during this Christmas season. You feel a relaxing break promenading the grounds while the cool breeze of December soothes your nerves.
NGC Bacolod is simply dressed for the holidays with lights outlining the façade of the building which in its stateliness is already an attraction by itself. But as the city administration desires to offer more for the community, the 1st Belen Making Contest was organized to bring more cheers and reason for people to visit and make the NGC Bacolod as a must destination during this Christmas.
Six (6) life-size Belens participating in the first ever Belen-Making Contest are displayed prominently in the fountain area and became favorite photo objects for the visitors.
The contest did not just give Bacoleños another holiday destination but, these beautiful belens being figurative depiction of the birth of Jesus Christ has given the children the opportunity to understand (and remind the old ones) what is the meaning of Christmas and why it is being celebrated all over the Christian world.
Kudos to Mayor Bing Leonardia, VM Thaddy Sayson and contest chairman Homer Bais.
