OSYs thank Capiz mobile school movers
Roxas City – Forty-eight out-of-school youth (OSY) have conveyed their gratitude to the proponents of the province’s Mobile Technology School (MTS) during a graduation exercise last Dec. 22 at the Heritage Center in Sigma town.
The graduates have finished the Basic Arc Welding and Beauty Care skills training courses from the MTS project.
During the graduation rites, Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco said that the project will help the OSYs become better and productive citizens in the community.
The project was conceptualized by Capiz State University (CAPSU) and other members of the education sector as part of the development vision pillar on Quality and Relevant Education during the strategic development planning workshop conducted by the provincial government in 2007.
The project is a realization of Gov. Victor Tanco’s development thrust to provide quality and relevant education that can also help Capiceños acquire knowledge and skills for gainful employment.
It is also in line with the CAPSU’s program to make education accessible to a wider mass of people.
Other collaborators for the project are Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to ensure that the training program conforms with industry and labor market requirements. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
