LMP national prexy pushes 50/50 share in IRA
ROXAS CITY – League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) President Ramon Guico, mayor of Binalonan, Pangasinan, said here yesterday that he is pushing for the equal sharing of Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) to the Local Government Units (LGUs) and the national government.
This was bared by Guico during a press conference held at the Nestas Hill Top here yesterday. Guico together with Gerardo Calderon, executive director of the National Solid Waste Management Commission, met with all municipal mayors of Capiz, both 1st and 2nd district, led by Pilar Mayor Rita Lyn Patricio, LMP-Capiz chapter president, yesterday at the same venue.
Guico said that the LGUs will be primarily benefited by his proposal.
The LMP president, who is running for senator under Lakas-CMD, said that he has been serving the mayor’s league for nine years already.
Guico’s slogan “Gets Ko Agad” will prioritize medicines for the poor, education, job and services to the people.
Meanwhile, Patricio, who was accompanied by husband former Pilar Mayor Ike Patricio, thanked Guico and Calderon for visiting Capiz and vowed to support the national president in all its endeavors.
