Tanco, Bolante showdown begins in leader’s forum
ROXAS CITY – Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. told his opponent former Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante that Camarines Sur became progressive because of P2 billion loan.
Tanco made this contention knowing that Bolante is against his plan of loaning P683 million to finance various projects in Capiz.
Tanco, Bolante and their partymates were guests at the leaders forum dubbed “Let’s talk about solution” organized by the faculty and students of St. John College-Roxas, De La Salle last Tuesday afternoon.
Along with Tanco were running mate Board Member Nonoy Contreras of Liberal Party (LP) while joining Bolante was his running mate former City Councilor Mark Ortiz of Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC).
In defense, Bolante said that Camarines Sur stabilized its economy not only because it is well-managed but also because of its political leaders.
“Why can’t we do the same for Capiz?” Bolante said adding that Capiz is better than Camarines Sur in terms of its tourist attraction, economic stability and many others.
The former DA Usec also said that he developed his business from one million into billions capital.
Bolante said that once elected governor, he will prioritize education, health services, inviting investors, fishing industry and many others.
Asked regarding the P728 million fertilizer scam, Bolante said that the case against him was clearly misleading and is against his constitutional rights to be presumed guilty until proven by the court.
Bolante stressed that he has never been convicted in court adding that the issue against him was character assassination not only against him but also to his family.
On the other hand, Tanco presented his platform of government which is already being implemented as he said that his opponents are still dreaming.
To note, Tanco has proposed a loan in the amount of P683 million to finance various projects in Capiz while Bolante was reportedly behind the opposition through Board Member Gilbert Ardivilla.
Contreras and Ortiz who are contenders in vice governatorial race also presented their platforms of government.
The forum was also attended by UKC in full force from congressman, board members down to municipal mayors in both 1st and 2nd district.
