24 squatters in city face demolition
ROXAS CITY – Some 24 informal settlers are now facing eviction in Barangay Punta Tabuc this city after the court issued writ of demolition against them in favor of the Philippine Veteran Bank.
In an order dated January 7, 2010 penned by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Juliana Azarraga, the writ of demolition was hereby issued directing the sheriff of the court to demolish and remove houses, buildings, structures and improvement standing on Lot No. 1848-B-2 of the Subdivision Plan (LRC) PSD-225736 and covered by TCT No. T-35537 in Punta Tabuc, Roxas City.
Subject for demolition are the houses of: Carlito Ondillo, Pakit Paglinawan, Fe Paglinawan, Danilo Dumol, Rogelio Elendo, Ivy Caldea, Danilo Rosero, Edith Rose, Amparo Aguirre, Leonardo Llena, Minda Paredes, Ruel Bataican, Susan Arcos, Max Paglinawan, Robertson Olendo, Nancy Olendo, Reynaldo Olendo, Rudy Jimenez, Catherine Lozada, Nestor Capapas, Lotgardo Llena, Rolando Olendo, Vilma Alfaro and Narciso Bayhon.
In a sheriff’s notice of demolition, the order of demolition will be implemented thirty days upon receipt.
The said notice of demolition was signed by Kirk A. Talabucon, Sheriff IV, and Atty. Blas Nolasco, Jr, Clerk of Court IV and Provincial Sheriff Ex-Officio of Capiz.
Brgy Captain Romeo de Felipe of Punta Tabuc said that the city government is set to give financial aid to those squatters who would be affected by the demolition.
