Drug raid yields suspected shabu
ROXAS CITY – Roxas City police led by PSupt. Leo Batiles, police chief, recovered suspected shabu in a raid at the house of suspected illegal drug pusher at dawn yesterday in Arnaldo Boulevard, Baybay this city.
Batiles identified the suspect as Noel Tupaz y Penequito, 39, of the said place whose house was raided on the strength of search warrant issued by Executive Judge Edward Contreras of the 6th Judicial Region.
Recovered from the house of Tupaz were: one brown ladies pouch containing 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu; 11 pieces of empty plastic sachet with printed “high quality”; one scissor; one big roll of aluminum foil; four crumpled aluminum foil; one small empty plastic sachet; one nokia 5210 cellular phone; one disposable lighter and one color black men’s wallet containing P2,263.00 cash in different denominations.
Batiles said that the raid was done in orderly manner and witnessed by Brgy. Captain Sonny Llamas, Kagawad Eric Bergantinos of Brgy. Baybay and several members of the media.
The police chief also said that Tupaz was subjected with intensive surveillance for three weeks adding that the suspect reportedly engaged in drug pushing for almost one year.
He said that the suspect, who is detained at the lock-up cell, will be charged with appropriated charges in court while the recoveries are set to be brought to the Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City.
