Cousins arrested over stabbing episode
Two cousins were arrested after a stabbing incident that killed another man at Pototan, Iloilo.
Neil John Pediola, 19, and Rojen Versoza, 20, both of Brgy. Barasan, Pototan, Iloilo are now behind bars following the death of 21-year old Jonathan Varona.
The principal suspect and Rojen’s elder brother, Roberto, fled after the incident.
Rojen claimed that the victim provoked his brother.
He added that he saw the two from within a distance.
Rojen narrated that Varona was playing with Roberto’s cap donned on his head.
“Una, nagalayu-anay man sila. Tapos ginpalapitan niya pa gid magulang ko. Nag-init man guro ulo niya,” he added.
Rojen did not elaborate further on his role why he was tagged as one of the suspects.
Both Pediola and Versoza pointed to Roberto as the suspect.
It was gathered that Varona succumbed to a stab injury on his chest.
Meanwhile, Pediola claimed that he turned himself to authorities because he believed that he has nothing to hide.
By going to police investigators, he added that he would clear himself on his alleged role in the stabbing to death of Varona.
Recovered from the crime scene were mobile phone and knife believed to be owned by Roberto, who remains at large as of press time.
