Lolo weds 19-year old sweetheart
As the old adage says, “age doesn’t matter.”
This, Hermenigildo Arcega alias “Memen” would like to believe as he contracted marriage with his 19-year old sweetheart over the weekend in Roxas City.
Despite both families’ disapproval, the 86-year old Memen went on to wed Mary Joy Saturday morning at the Mt. Carmel Parish Church.
In front of their family members, the newly-wed couple got resounding applauses every time the elderly groom locked lips with her teenage bride.
Although the couple did not grant an interview, they revealed, though, that against the wishes of their family and friends, they have been sweethearts for three years before they finally tied the knot.
Memen, a war veteran, has long been widowed while Mary Joy was working at a grocery prior to their wedding.
It was while at work that the bride met Memen.
The groom’s family is well-known in Ivisan town in Capiz, as he has children who are economically-endowed professionals.
