Nabitasan fire victims to get P5T financial aid
Residents of Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz whose houses were gutted by fire last month will receive a P5,000 financial assistance each from the city government. There were 142 houses razed by fire.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said they are now working for the release of P5,000 financial assistance to each of the affected family. The financial assistance is the city’s way of helping the fire victims back on their feet.
The financial assistance will be taken from the calamity fund of the city. The city is allowed to spend five percent of its calamity fund after the Sangguniang Panglungsod through a resolution declared the barangay under the state of the calamity.
The financial assistance is a separate help to provided by the city government to the hundreds of families other than the relief goods.
The mayor said the city government will also give financial assistance to the fire victims at Zone 8, Veterans Village, City Proper.
In a report rendered by Nida Espadon, Social Welfare Officer III of the CSWDO, there were 13 houses totally damaged and six partially damaged in Veterans Village. There are also 21 boarders who were affected by fire. The 21 boarders lived in the six of the 13 houses that were gutted by fire.
