DOT solicits media support for One Visayas hype
ROXAS CITY – Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Edwin Trompeta has solicited the support of local tri-media practitioners in the promotion of the upcoming One Visayas One People One Destiny celebration from March 11 to 14 here.
The request was conveyed by Trompeta during the festival’s preparatory meeting last Feb.3 to firm up preparations as well as finalize the various artistic and cultural activities of the big tourism event.
The celebration with the theme “Heroes and Nationalism” will be hosted by the Capiz provincial government in close coordination with the RDC in Western Visayas.
Capiz Provincial Press Bureau (CPPB) chief Edward Basilonia said that a media briefing has also been set by the celebration’s Marketing and Promotions Unit to build up the celebration.
“There is also a workshop for mediamen,” said Provincial Tourism Officer Alphonsus Tesoro.
Tesoro added that a welcome dinner for both local and national mediamen will be tendered by the provincial government in appreciation to their publicity support to the celebration.
The One Visayas affair will be participated in by the provinces, regional agencies, state universities and colleges and private sector groups of Eastern Visayas (Region VIII), Central Visayas (Region VII), and Western Visayas (Region VI). (PIA/A.Lumaque)
