Villar-Legarda ‘virtually’ invade Roxas’ bailiwick
ROXAS CITY – Nacionalista Party (NP) candidates led by standard bearer Manny Villar and running mate Loren Legarda virtually invaded the bailiwick of Sen. Mar Roxas last Wednesday.
Former Pontevedra Mayor Jojie Avelino who is mayoral candidate of Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) in Pontevedra, Capiz reportedly shouted “wala na si Mar Roxas di” inside the office of City Mayor Vicente Bermejo during the courtesy call last Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
Villar and Legarda together with several senatoriables went to the city mayor’s office and were welcomed by supporters inside and outside the city hall.
They arrived via private plane at the Roxas City airport and met with political allies such as: Sapian Mayor Arturo Orosco, Sr. President Roxas Mayor Rosauro Buenafe, mayoral candidates: Avelino, Lawyer Atlas Catalan of Maayon and Sianong Patricio of Pilar as well as supporters and friends.
Villar and Legarda had a separate closed door meeting with Bermejo.
Legarda and Villar were accompanied by senatorial bets Rep. Satur Ocampo, former Ilocos Norte Gov. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Gwen Pimentel, Liza Maza, and Gilbert Remullia.
After the courtesy call, Villar met with supporters at Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center then Capiz State University and proceeded to Sapian where he also met with supporters and proceeded to Balete,Aklan and in the afternoon went to Iloilo province.
On other hand, Legarda proceeded to Filamer Christian College then Panay town where she met with supporters.
