City to celebrate Fire Prevention Month
The Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection celebrates Annual Fire Prevention Month with the theme: “Sustaining Fire Prevention through Active Community Participation”, on March 1-31.
City Fire Marshal, Officer In-Charge Pamela Rojane Candido said the City Fire Station will conduct a series of activities in line with the celebration.
There will be: motorcade, concelebrated mass and 4th quiz bee and poster making contest at Gaisano City Mall ; house to house fire safety inspection; fire drill (public elementary school within Neg.Occ.; “sine sa barangay”; 2nd photo exhibit at SM Bacolod; fire drill at New Government Center; fire Olympics at SM Bacolod North; 4th medical mission; 4th dental and FBS; and fun run (OPFM to Capitol Lagoon).
Candido further said the Bureau of Fire will conduct intensification of fire safety inspection, fire safety information drive and fire drill on public and private establishments and other institution.
Mayor Bing Leonardia expressed his support and called the active participation of every Bacoleño.
He added that some of the areas in the city had been hit by fire that resulted to death and damage to properties. “This fire protection month celebration should be seriously participated, so we will be educated on the importance of fire safety tips to avoid lost of lives and properties”, the mayor added.
The celebration of the Fire Prevention Month is by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A which aims to create public awareness on the importance of fire safety and prevention.
