Mayor signs EO to honor Boys’ Home benefactor
Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently signed Executive Order No. 3 to honor the late Herman “Macoy” Lopez, Jr. and to recognize his contribution for the betterment of the Bacolod Boys’ Home.
The executive order also mandated the setting up of a special marker at the Bacolod Boys’ Home and the holding of a ceremony every 13th of February to honor Lopez as a special patron of the facility and to commemorate the death of the philanthropist who shared his time and talent to the church and to the society.
Leonardia acknowledged the effort exerted by Lopez for the Bacolod Boys’ Home especially after the passing of Fr. Gratian Murray. The mayor stressed that the late philanthropist singlehandedly supported the needs of the Boys’ Home, which he said was an act of generosity that gave solace, comfort and assurance to the young residents of the facility.
