Bacolod Eye Center construction starts
The Bacolod City Government, through the City Engineer’s Office, has already started with the construction of the two-storey Bacolod Eye Center located at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that he expects the project to be finished by May and that the facility will soon be able to help Bacoleños with eye problems. The mayor said that a lot of people will be able to benefit from this facility so he is confident that the project will be sustainable, realistic and functional and will not become a white elephant.
Leonardia stressed that the building will be turned over to CLMMRH for supervision after its completion.
The city government has alloted P3.2 million for the completion of the said facility that will render free services such as consultation, surgery and supply of medicines to all patients identified by the Department of Social Services and Development.
The ground floor of the eye center will house two examination rooms, fluorescent and laser rooms, and a conference room, while the second floor will have three operating rooms, a scrubbing area, a waiting area, doctor’s lounge and nurses’ station.
