11 to face anti-hazing rap in Dumalag
ROXAS CITY – Police in Dumalag are preparing charges against eleven persons who were caught-in-the act of conducting a fraternity hazing in an abandoned piggery in Sitio Asum, Brgy. San Jose, Dumalag, Capiz last Thursday evening.
Insp. Aldren Lamera, police chief of Dumalag PNP, said that eleven persons to be charged for violation of anti-hazing law are: Roy Paraon, 18, of Brgy. San Roque Dumalag; Rodmar Besonia, 24, of Poblacion, Dumalag and a student of Filamer Christian College; Jeffrey Fegarido, 28, a seaman; Rainheart Tortula, 21, or Brgy. Sto. Angel, Dumalag and a student of Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion (CPC); Genesis Feniquito, 19, of Brgy. San Roque and a Criminology student of CPC; Abiguel Delfin, 18, of St. Cruz, Dumalag and a computer student of the Dumalag Vocational and Technical School (DVTS); Jenil Bulquiren, 22, of Maindang, Cuartero, Capiz and a students of the DVTS; and Jake Daria, 22, of Angub, Cuartero. The names of three other arrested suspects were withheld because they are minors.
Lamera said that the group is Triskilon, a local group of Tau Gamma Fraternity, which conducted a hazing on Bulquiren and Daria who are neophyte members of the fraternity when arrested.
He added that the two neophytes sustained hematoma on their bodies from the hazing initiation and were already weak when arrested by the police.
Policemen recovered two pieces of wooden paddles used in the hazing rites while the 11 persons are still detained at the lock-up cell of Dumalag PNP Station.
Lamera said that the 11 persons were arrested after San Jose Barangay Captain Boy Suela reported the said hazing activity to them.
