City to hold 2-day career guidance coaching
The Bacolod City Government, through the Public Employment Service Office, will hold a two-day career guidance coaching to at least 8,000 students of public schools on Monday (at the SM Mall) and on Tuesday (at the Robinsons Place).
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that the career guidance coaching is a regular program of the city government that is aimed at solving the mismatch between labor demand and labor supply. He said that the country is now facing the dilemma of having an oversupply of college graduates who have difficulty finding jobs, as graduates produced by many colleges and universities are not those that are needed by employers.
Leonardia also invited students from other schools to attend the said orientation so that they will know what jobs are in demand in the labor market at the present.
