Woman found dead in resort room
A woman was found dead inside her occupied room at Wilkin’s Resort at Brgy. Sto Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
As of presstime, Arevalo Police Station commander Senior Insp. Eliazer Baclagon said that the victim remains unidentified.
She bore a lone stab wound on her chest when she was found.
A resort attendant claimed that the victim and a male companion, both estimated to be on their 30s, checked it at Room M4 at around 4:00 in the afternoon of Saturday.
They paid in cash for their stay that will last 7:00 in the morning of the next day.
It was already past 7:00 a.m. of Sunday but nobody came out of Room M4.
Later, resort attendants knocked on the door.
However, nobody answered.
This prompted the employee to look for the key and open the door.
When they opened the door, they found the woman alone on top of the bed.
“They thought, at first, that the woman was just sleeping,” Baclagon narrated.
But their initial check revealed otherwise, as they saw ants swarming at the victim’s body.
A further examination revealed that she bore a lone stab injury on her chest.
Baclagon claimed that resort employees did not see the victim’s companion or anyone getting out of Room M4.
They also claimed to have not heard any noise coming from the couple’s rented room.
When they checked in, the duo showed that they were just an ordinary couple, reports claimed.
As this developed, Baclagon said that they are conducting investigation to ascertain the identity of the woman and her companion.
“From there, we hope to get a clearer picture to solve her death,” he added.
