Roxas blames Bolante for losing allies
ROXAS CITY – With only 25 days left before May 10, 2010 election, Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Sen. Mar Roxas said he lost many allies because of former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
This was bared by Roxas in a press conference held at the Roxas City airport with presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III together with senatoriables yesterday.
Aquino and Roxas graced the commemoration of 62nd death anniversary of the latter’s grandfather President Manuel Roxas.
“They left me since they could not leave Jocjoc who has something to hold them,” Roxas said referring to his allies who joined Bolante’s Ugyon Kita Party (UKC), an opponent of LP in Capiz.
“Masakit man sa akon ang ila gin himo, matapos gin suportahan ko sila sa malawig nga panahon kag ulolopud kami, pagkatapus gin bayaan nila ako,” Roxas said.
According to him, if his former allies could not leave Bolante for their political survival then “I understand them, but I’m hurt with what they have done,” Roxas added.
However, 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro and City Mayor Vicente Bermejo also blamed Roxas for not having settled political differences among his allies. They also claimed that they did not bolt from the LP but they were kicked out by the party.
On other hand, Aquino vowed that once elected into office, he will end the P728 million fund scam controversy which was allegedly orchestrated by Bolante because he will file appropriate charges against him.
“If you commit crimes, you have to pay in the quickest time,” he said.
The LP ‘s presidential candidate also said that they (Bolante and the group) want to have status quo in order to have “tuloy ang ligaya” while we strive to have “tuloy ang laban.”
Aquino and Roxas as well as several senatoriables, were warmly welcomed by some 15,000 supporters inside Capiz gym where the LP conducted sorties yesterday which ended almost 2 p.m.
The sorties were also attended by 1st District Rep. Antonio del Rosario, 2nd District Congressional Candidate Gen. Bobby Lastimoso, Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr., vice gubernatorial candidate Nonoy Contreras, City Mayoralty Candidate Alan Celino and running mate Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and 10 board members candidates as well as mayoral candidates in both 1st district and 2nd district.
