Man stabs dead younger brother
A heated argument over bottles of liquor led to a stabbing episode between two brothers Friday evening at Brgy. Lambuyao, Oton, Iloilo.
The incident claimed the life of 32-year old Jenard Jocsing, who succumbed to seven stab injuries.
Reports said that Jenard and his elder brother, 36-year old Federico, were having some drinks just outside their house earlier that evening.
At around 10:30, their mother Josefa claimed to have heard the two talking on top of their voices.
This prompted her to go and asked what was happening.
But the suspect allegedly advised his mother to just go back inside the house.
Unknown to Josefa, the two indulged in a more heated verbal tussle.
At the height of their argument, Federico got hold of a knife and stabbed his younger brother.
Riddled with stab wounds, Jenard managed to run into their kitchen where he fell off and died shortly.
He sustained stab injuries on his lower left armpit, stomach and chest, which proved to be the most fatal one.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident but surrendered Saturday morning.
According to Oton Police Station chief Insp. Esperidion Biado, the two also figured in a physical brawl two weeks ago.
During that incident, Jenard stabbed Federico, who was just slightly hit on his back.
But family members claimed that the two managed to patch up their differences.
Meanwhile, Josefa attested that Jenard was a good son until he gulped liquor where he showed his rowdy side.
Last year, it was gathered that the victim was also stabbed by his cousin.
As this developed, Josefa claimed that their family will have to discuss whether to pursue criminal charges against the victim’s brother.
Initially, though, the duo’s father expressed desire to have Federico jailed.
