Stones rain anew during Jed’s rally
For the third time, stones rained during the political rally of Vice Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
But unlike the two previous incidents, Mabilog was not speaking on the microphone when stones were hurled at around 8:15 in the evening of Friday at Brgy. Kasing-Kasing, Molo, Iloilo City.
Reports said that the caucus coordinator was just making some introductions when stones were thrown haphazardly.
Mabilog, who is running for the city’s mayoral seat against former Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, Sr. and former Local Water Utilities Local administrator Lorenzo Jamora, was yet to arrive when the incident happened.
According to Molo Police Station investigator PO3 Cesar Salcedo, a certain Mario Dabo, 66, also a resident of the said place, was wounded.
He was brought to Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital for treatment of minor head injury.
The incident also prompted organizers to forgo the scheduled political rally.
Last April 2, Mabilog was also stoned by unidentified people while on a political caucus at Brgy. Baldoza, La Paz, Iloilo City.
Mabilog claimed that he was going through his speech when he heard a thud.
At first, some thought that it was just Indian mango fruits that fell until several stones were thrown at the mayoralty bet’s direction.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
Mabilog claimed no knowledge on who could have done that to him.
