Drug peddler collared in buy bust
A suspected drug pusher operating at the Waterfront area in Iloilo was arrested in a buy bust operation Monday afternoon.
Members of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (RAIDSOG) identified the suspect as Romeo Chin, 50, of Veterans Village, City Proper district.
The suspect was immediately arrested after he handed a plastic sachet of suspected shabu in consideration of P400.
When he was later frisked, the suspect was yielded with five small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu placed inside a black pouch found in his wallet.
Two of the P50 bills, which served as marked money, were also yielded from Chin’s possession.
Even barangay officials in the area admitted to have received reports of Chin’s activities.
But they claimed that they have not confirmed the said information.
During the operation, Chin’s househelp even admonished the suspect for not heeding to their advice to stop his illegal deed.
It was gathered that the suspect had been arrested for similar offense years back.
Chin is presently detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 1 pending the filing of charges against him for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act as amended).
