Pa kills teenage son after bashing with pool cue
A father voluntarily surrendered after he “unintentionally” killed his son very recently at Brgy. Pabriaga, Sara, Iloilo.
Fifty-four-year old Simeon Depra got his son, 19-year old Reynaldo, killed after he bashed him with a pool cue.
The fatal confrontation started when Reynaldo and his younger brother quarreled.
Depra allegedly pacified his two sons but his appeal fell on deaf ears.
Later, the younger sibling ran from the brawl which left Reynaldo and his father.
As Depra allegedly admonished the victim, the latter allegedly tried to fight back with his father.
This irked the suspect and in a fit of rage, got the pool cue and beat it son Reynaldo.
Seconds later, the victim slumped on the pavement and was rushed to Sara District Hospital.
It was surmised that Reynaldo was instantly killed after he was hit on the nape.
“Nag-away sila sang iya manghod. Nalagyo ang iya manghod, amo to nga nakabuhi siya sa tako nga gina-uyatan niya. Ginpasundan ko dayon. Waay ko magdumdom nga mapatay siya kay daw hinay man lang to,” the father claimed.
But reports pointed out that Depra was known in their village for physically hitting his children.
As this developed, Depra’s wife expressed desire to file charges against her son’s killer.
