10 Guimaras vendors receive Nego Karts
Ten vendors from the province of Guimaras are now recipients of mobile or vending carts called “Nego Karts” from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Governor Felipe Nava and DOLE Iloilo and Guimaras Provincial Director Filomeno Sonza distributed the 10 “Nego Karts” to the identified beneficiaries recently.
According to the Guimaras Provincial Information Office, most of the beneficiaries were from the municipality of Jordan with 6 followed by Buenavista, 3 and Nueva Valencia, 1.
Under the “Negosyo sa Kariton”, beneficiaries are provided with the“Nego-Karts” along with a working capital.
The project is being implemented by DOLE in partnership with its accredited co-partner (ACP) like the local government units and the private sector.
In Guimaras, DOLE’s ACP is the provincial government.
The project intends to upgrade the products and services of the vendors as well as their mobility to get more customers and buyers which is in line with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s thrust to uplift the living condition of the disadvantaged workers by providing them decent and sustainable livelihood.
