Waiter retracts accusation versus Jamora
In a surprising turn of events, the alleged former Mang Inasal waiter who broadcast Larry Jamora’s alleged drunken episode is set to retract his statement, and is now willing to testify that the event never occurred. He was reportedly paid by candidate for councilor Plaridel Nava to make the accusation.
Earlier yesterday, in yet another desperate ploy to smear the image of Larry Jamora, now the leading candidate for city mayor, the Mabilog camp has come up with mercenaries – two fictitious persons and a mediaman for hire, to invent negative stories against Jamora.
In a blocktime program over DyOK, Aksyon Radyo, a Mabilog spokesman interviewed two persons who claimed to be “former waiters” of the Mang Inasal branch in Valeria street. The two, who were identified only by their first names, alleged that in the night of July 15 last year, they were accosted by Jamora who was drunk and wielding a gun. The two then proceeded to warn the voting public against the true nature of Jamora.
The well-scripted interview was obviously pure concoction. It was simply intended to destroy Jamora’s well-earned image and reputation as a kind-hearted, religious and devoted family man.
Jamora simply shrugged off the lies as just another act of desperation by his opponent who is steadily losing support from the public. “I don’t think anybody will believe these lies. Wala ko ya nagabitbit pusil (I don’t carry a gun),” Jamora said. “Everybody knows my opponent is already resorting to black propaganda because he has gone down.”
Jamora showed the Philippine Airlines eTicket which verifies irrefutably that he was in Manila at the time the alleged incident happened. A copy of the eTicket has been posted at Larry Jamora’s Facebook account.
The management of Mang Inasal also initially said they have no recollection of ever hiring the two workers. It will also conduct an investigation on the claim which implicates the company in the malicious propaganda.
“We expect more lies to come out of the Mabilog camp. But these will not affect us in any way,” Jamora said.
An expose by the Gonzalez camp the other day revealed Mabilog’s tendency to reinvent himself. The Gonzalez camp made public Mabilog’s scholastic record which showed that, contrary to Mabilog’s claim of being an outstanding student, he had, in fact, failing grades in high school and college and that he dropped out of medical school. The expose also bared that Mabilog was never a Harvard graduate as he had boasted but merely attended a five-day seminar in that prestigious school.
Mabilog has admitted he was “pala-absent”, an irresponsible attitude which he carries to this day as public official who regularly scores the most number of absences at the City Council.
