Electric coop employee slain in broad daylight
An employee of the Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO) was slain in broad daylight while riding on his motorcycle along Brgy. Devera, Sara, Iloilo.
Forty-year old Melchor Morales was instantly killed after two suspects riding on a motorcycle peppered him with bullets at around 4:00 p.m. of Monday.
Reports said that the suspects have been trailing behind Morales, who was also driving his motorcycle.
When the two suspects kept up with the victim, one of them shot the victim several times with the use of caliber .45 pistol.
Morales incurred gunshot injuries on his head and chest.
His body was recovered at the roadside next to his motorcycle.
Witnesses claimed that the suspects immediately sped off towards San Dionisio, Iloilo.
Meanwhile, Sara Police Station chief Chief Insp. Luther Lugo said that they have yet to establish the motive of the incident or the suspects behind the killing.
Police could not rule if the suspects are guns-for-hire.
It could not also be ascertained if the incident has something to do with the victim’s work in ILECO based in Sara town.
Morales was assigned to disconnect power lines of delinquent payers.
