Celino to Bermejo: ‘Leave city gov’t in good condition’
ROXAS CITY – Mayor-elect Alan Celino told outgoing Mayor Vicente Bermejo to leave the city government in a good condition.
This was the plea of Celino amidst the rumors which spread like wild fire that Bermejo camp exerted efforts to exhaust remaining city government funds before he steps down.
“But I assumed that during the transition, the good mayor will leave the city government in a good condition,” Celino said in a radio interview.
According to him, he will ask the outgoing mayor to let him know how much funds is left in the city as well as properties so that there will be proper audit to be conducted by the incoming administration.
He added that once Bermejo properly turns over the city government to him, he will let the people know about the remaining funds as well as properties of the city government.
The newly-elected city mayor revealed that he wants to know the resources in the city hall and the department heads that can cooperate with his administration during his first ten days in office.
He said that he will assess department heads based on their performance and loyalty. “I’m very effective with people whom I trusted,” Celino added.
Finally, Celino assured that the city government under his administration will be closer to the people and with much opportunities and peace and order.
Celino of Liberal Party defeated Bermejo in city mayoralty race in the recently concluded elections.
Celino and incumbent Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas’ including seven councilors who belong to LP won during the election, they are: City Councilor Erwin Sicad, Powell del Rosario, Mathew James Veterbo, Jenifer Ann Anisco (not City Councilor Amador Anisco as earlier reported), Erlynne Lim, Judge Julius Abela and Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones, Jr.
On the other hand, winners from Ugyon Kita Capiz were: Teresa Almalbis, City Councilors: Jose Agdalipe and Carla Abela.
