Mining firm applies for exploration in Maayon
ROXAS CITY – Teresa Marble Corporation, TMC International Corp., has submitted its environmental work plan and exploration work plan to the village chief of Brgy. Tuburan, Maayon, Capiz.
In a letter obtained by The News Today dated March 30, 2010, the submittal of the activities which was prepared and signed by Engr. Ser Allain Pleyto, mining firm’s technical man, was in accordance with and pursuant to Section 5 of Memorandum Order, approved on August 31, 2007 and took effect on October 7, 2004.
The TMC environmental work plan with Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Mines and Geosciences Bureau, North Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, stated that the project aims to determine the type, nature and reserve of the deposit prior to development and exploration.
According to the documents, the minerals targeted for exploration are gold, copper, silver, lead, zinc and its associated minerals. It is expected that after the two-year exploration works, the potential of the area will be established.
The applied areas are: Brgy. Binuntucan, Pontevedra, Capiz; Brgys. East Villaflores, Bongbongan, Aglimocon, Maalan, Dulunan, Tuburan, Cabungahan, Balighot, Carataya, Quinatuyan, Indayagan, Alayunan, Jebeca, Old Guia and Alasaging, Maayon, Capiz; Bgrys. Alcantara, Marapal and Layog Bato, Lemery, Iloilo.
The submission of application was signed by Annie G. Dee, president of TMC.
