Panitan mayor, partymates kicked by LP won in polls
ROXAS CITY – Panitan mayor and partymates, who either bolted or kicked by Liberal Party and joined Ugyon Kita Capiz, won in the recently concluded elections.
Last termer Mayor Katherine Belo and running mate Vice Mayor Generoso Derramas and other councilors made landslide victories in Panitan.
Belo-Derramas tandem filed their Certificate of Candidacies under the ticket of Liberal Party however, when the election was near, the party supported Tincupon Brgy. Richard Dadivas and Poblacion Brgy. Captain Oliver Delfin’s mayoralty and vice mayoralty bids, respectively.
On the other hand, Ugyon Kita Capiz being chaired by Cong. Fredenil Castro, Lakas Kampi CMD and Former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante as vice chairman, adopted Belo-Derramas tandem and allies as the party’s bets in Panitan.
Dadivas and Delfin tandem as well as allies filed their COCs as independent.
LP camp claimed that Belo-Derramas tandem bolted from the LP since they secretly supported Bolante and the rest of UKC bets however, the duo strongly denied allegations saying that they were loyal to the party but were kicked out by LP.
LP also accused Belo of supporting Bolante since her mother former Panitan Mayor Josepina Dorado Dequiña is a close relative of Carol Dorado, wife of Bolante, who also hails from Panitan.
Other winners are: Roberto Albaña, Edgardo Caldeo, Vicente Delfin, Saymor Diaz, Abraham Belvis, Francisco Penolan, Josephine Bito-on and Rex Dorado.
