Boy drowns in city inland resort
A boy was killed after he got drowned in an island resort within the Iloilo Smallville Complex in Mandurriao, Iloilo City at around 10:00 a.m. of Saturday.
Five-year old Kurt Calero of Brgy. Pungtod, Cabatuan, Iloilo was found floating in one of the pools of the El Dorado Waterpark shortly after he allegedly got separated from 15-year old Jessa Calero.
It was not confirmed if Kurt and Jessa are siblings.
Reports said that Kurt was with his family when the incident happened.
It was learned that Jessa called for help from El Dorado’s lifeguard but the boy was already lifeless.
Unconfirmed reports have it that the recent incident was not first in El Dorado.
The waterpark, which is part of the Mo2 Complex is adjacent to Westown Hotel, is considered as one of most accessible inland resort in the entire city of Iloilo.
In online reports, El Dorado boasted a unique theme from Pre-Spanish America or Mayan inspiration. The resort is known for its lovely pool, which is just levelled at 4-feet, with features like that of Mayan temples and its fine poolside rooms.
It has also a waterslide feature that has sharp curves.
