Capiz top cop gets ‘Sarimanok’ medal
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz-Roxas Islamic Foundation, Inc (CRIFI) has conferred the “Sarimanok” medal to Capiz police director Senior Supt. Josepheus Angan during the flag raising and awarding ceremonies last June 14 at Camp Teodorico Apil here.
Imam Ramal Malawi and Ustad Haron Magadapa said in a Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) blogsite that it was their intention to surprise the province’s top cop on the award.
The “Sarimanok” medal is a Muslim handicraft in Mindanao which signifies achievement in the field of public service. It symbolizes the strong partnership of the Muslim community here with the Capiz PNP.
“In behalf of the muslim community in Roxas, I would like to express our appreciation to your Provincial Director S/Supt. Angan for the support given to us,” said Magadapa during the awarding rites.
“You have made us feel that our contributions in the PNP’s program and projects are really of importance, notwithstanding our minority standing,” the Muslim leader added.
It can be recalled that the CRIFI was among those who had supported the successful peace signing for H.O.P.E. 2010 and the Prayer Vigil spearheaded by CPPO last May polls.
