Fisherman electrocuted in Pilar town
ROXAS CITY – A fisherman, who just arrived from fishing, was electrocuted after he touched an open line thinking it was still brownout.
The victim was identified as Eljon Baltar, married, legal age and resident of Sitio Kan-on, Natividad, Pilar, Capiz.
Report have it that Baltar, who donned wet long shirt, accidentally touched the live wire of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (Capelco) at around 7 a.m. yesterday morning at their house.
He was rushed by his immediate relative at the Bailan District Hospital but declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
Since the victim was wet, he was connected with electric power instantly.
To note, frequent brownouts occur in Capiz province nowadays due to the lack of supply from Independent Power Producers (IPP).
