Inmate dies in police station
ROXAS CITY – A man detained at the lock-up cell of the city police station here died yesterday morning after he complained of stomach problem.
Francisco Agam, 51, a resident of Sitio Nasagud, Bolo, was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital after he was brought by the police for treatment.
Agam was arrested Sunday night while he was drunk for damaging the property of his neighbor P02 Rodel Ebañes, who is assigned at Roxas City police station.
Inmates detained with the victim at cell number 3 said that Agam complained of abdominal pain early morning yesterday.
The police gave him food but he refused to eat because of his stomach problem.
The victim’s daughter who visited him yesterday before he died confirmed that his father has a lingering illness but refused to provide details.
The city police is still investigating whether there was a foul play in the victim’s death.
