NSO concludes census enumeration
ROXAS CITY – The count of the province’s population and housing units in Capiz has officially ended last June 27 in line with the 2010 Census of Population and Housing.
Provincial Statistics Officer Eriberto Esclamad said that enumeration will be followed by the manual processing of forms from July 5 to August 28 this year, the Philippine Information Agency said.
“During this period, enumeration of additional areas that were not covered based on claims of barangay officials will be accommodated,” Esclamad said.
A three-day training of manual processors was also conducted by National Statistics Office-Capiz in preparation for the processing of data.
Esclamad said that Capiceños may reach 722,000 as of May this year based on the August 2007 provincial population of 701,664 with less than one percent annual growth rate.
The census, which has set May 1, 2010 as reference date, will include the entire process of collecting, compiling, evaluating, analyzing, publishing, and disseminating data about the population and the living quarters in a country.
It will be the 13th census of population and the 6th census of housing that will be conducted in the country since the first census was undertaken in 1903.
