Nothing definite on reshuffling: Pagdilao
Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr, . police regional director, said no revamp is forthcoming among the police officers under the Police Regional Office 6.
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” he said. “There is nothing definite about reshuffling. We will give them time before we evaluate their performance,” he said.
Pagdilao said that if the police officers perform well, there is no reason for reshuffling or revamp unless one is due for retirement, promotion, or because of higher headquarters’ order for reassignment for professional advancement.
The decision to designate provincial and city police directors lies in the hands of the Philippine National Police chief, he said.
Meanwhile, Pagdilao said he is yet to assess the status of Supt. Leo Becerial of Guimaras Police Provincial Office, Senior Supt. Josephus Angan of Capiz PPO, and Senior Supt. Renato Gumban of Iloilo PPO.
Becerial is still an officer-in-charge as he is only ranked superintendent while Angan will soon reach the maximum two-year stint in office.
There also reports that Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. might seek to replace Gumban.
Pagdilao also said that he would support the programs of the previous PRO-6 administration, particularly the scheme on the accounting of personnel.
“The best practices have to stay while some programs, we will raise to a higher level,” he said.
He noted that there would be no arbitrary changes without painstaking review and evaluation of the current program.
