18th most wanted in La Paz falls
One of the 20 most wanted persons in La Paz district, Iloilo City was arrested by police operatives on Tuesday.
Rhodora Japitana of Brgy. Baldoza is considered the 18th most wanted person in La Paz for violation of the Child Abuse Law.
She was arrested in Brgy. Luna, La Paz by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Globert Justalero of Regional Trial Court Branch 32 in Iloilo City.
Japitana is detained at the lock-up cell of La Paz Police Station.
On the same day, three wanted persons were also arrested by operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office.
Aguirre brothers Ponciano and Noel, and Noel Gedorio, all residents of Zone 3, Barrio Obrero, also in La Paz were wanted for frustrated homicide.
Policemen served the warrant of arrests to the three at the house of their friend in Brgy. Danao.
The bailbond recommended for their provisional liberty is P200,000 each for two counts of frustraded homicide.
They were detained at the lock-up cell of La Paz Police Station.
WOMAN THIEF NABBED
Early morning on Tuesday, a group of taxi drivers arrested a woman thief who has victimized them and their colleagues.
Mary Jean Cautibar, 20, of Brgy. Laguda, La Paz was about to do her modus operandi when taxi drivers put her under citizen’s arrest at corner Ledesma and Jalandoni Sts., Iloilo City.
Her victims said Cautibar sweet talked them and even offered them sexual favors to divert their attention before stealing their money.
At the police station, a number of taxi drivers positively identified Cautibar.
Taxi driver Dodong Escurial said the suspect also tried her modus operandi on him, and when he found out her intent, she forced Cautibar to leave his vehicle in the middle of the flyover.
Cautibar said in a television interview that she resorted to such action because she needed money.
Despite their complaints, the taxi drivers did not pursue criminal charges against the suspect. MGC/JPR
