Panitan ‘global reunion’ a success
PANITAN, Capiz – The Global Reunion, one of the highlights of this town’s annual fiesta, featuring the homecoming of successful Paniteños abroad, was a success.
Mayor Katherine “Kit” Belo said the global reunion had a lot of familiar faces.
The affair, which she described as a happy occasion, was joined by municipal officials and employees and working partners of the balikbayans.
This year’s festivities, themed “Pagpasidungog to deserving Panitanons,” was in honor of St. Lawrence the Deacon, the town’s patron.
The Global Reunion Night also included a modern ballroom dance event.
On Monday night, Belo crowned Fiesta Queen 2010 Raisa Ervina Diosana Benganio and Fiesta King John Degala.
There were three honorees during the Pagpasidungog – Engr. Jose Doktora Dasas, the late Dr. Salvador Delfin Dollota, and Romualdo Daliva.
The honorees were recognized for their contribution to the development of Panitan town.
