MRWD has new acting general manager
ROXAS CITY – Metro Roxas Water District has named Engr. Glen Delgado as its acting general manager, after the Local Water Utilities Administration turned over on August 15 the operation of the MRWD to the local management.
The LWUA took over the operation of the water district in 2005 after former general manager Medardo Pestaño and members of the board had a conflict on the P1-billon expansion of the water treatment plant.
Delgado, a former maintenance chief of MRWD, said he was appointed temporarily as general manager by interim general manager Rosemarie Marquez, who is back at the LWUA central office in Manila.
He said his stay as acting general manager is only until November this year to give time to Mayor Angel Alan Celino, who is the appointing authority, to choose a new general manager and chairman of the board of directors and its members.
Delgado said he is qualified for the position of general manager, however, it is still up to the mayor whom to appoint in the vacant positions.
Delgado studied Engineering at Western Institute of Technology in Iloilo City and finished his Master in Public Administration in 2008 at the Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion.
He started his government employment in 1990 at MRWD where he held different positions until he was promoted as head of the maintenance department then, he appointed as acting general manager.*
